Unique Solution Log Explained
Purpose: to demonstrate that my invention idea is unique. How? Find products that are similar, but different, than my idea.
Example: My problem is that I cannot listen to my CD music when riding my bike. My solution (invention) is a special holder that allows me to attach my CD player to my bike.
My search finds many products that allow me to attach music to my bike, but none of them involve a CD player. They all involve FM radio music.
So, shown below by a Venn Diagram, I can demonstrate that my solution is unique by COMPARING and CONTRASTING my idea to the products I’ve found on the Web and in the stores:
I list my sources (web addresses, for example) and, for each, I give a brief description of what I found:
“This website lists several types of bicycle radios, but my invention idea uses a CD player. Therefore, my idea is unique.”
