I'm Off! Heading to Newhall, Iowa!

I departed today for Central Lutheran School in Newhall, Iowa. It was an exciting day, but sad at the same time. I hated to leave all my friends behind at Saint Michael. We’ve had lots of fun together. I’m looking forward to meeting my new friends at Central Lutheran. I hope they’ll let me keep up with my blog and maybe even send some progress reports of their own as I meet each of their students. Until my next report, God bless all my fifth grade friends at Saint Michael, until we meet again in the Spring!

Please leave me a voice message while I’m away. I’ll check my blog regularly to see if anybody has called to say “hello”! Hopefully, that’ll help when I get homesick...

Planning My Journey - My Third Stop

I’ll be leaving Peace Lutheran School in Antigo, Wisconsin just as springtime comes. I then head south to Pekin, Illinois where I’ll spend the spring with Ms. Hall’s fourth grade class at Good Shepherd Lutheran School. This will be my final destination before heading home to Florida on April 15. By the time I get here I’m sure I’ll be pretty homesick for my friends at Saint Michael. Planning My Journey - My Second Stop

On December 15, 2009 I’ll leave Central Lutheran School in Newhall, Iowa and head for Peace Lutheran School in Antigo, Wisconsin. Wisconsin in the middle of winter sounds a bit cold for a Florida guy! I’m sure the fourth graders at Peace will keep me warm and happy. Christmas in Wisconsin! Sounds fun!

Planning My Journey - My First Stop

I’ve been busy! This weekend I worked with Mr. Schwan to plot my journey in Google Maps. In eleven days I leave Saint Michael Lutheran and head to Central Lutheran School in Newhall, Iowa. I have many stops after that; here’s my first leg, all planned and ready. Please follow me on my trek through the Midwestern United States. I’ve never been north before!

Weekend Fun

Going home with a new student every day is fun, but it makes me tired. I’ve been keeping up with my journal, though. I’m getting ready for my October 15 departure for Newhall, Iowa. There, I’ll spend 2 months getting to know the students in Mrs. Schumacher’s fourth grade at Central Lutheran School.

This weekend I helped Mr. Schwan babysit his grandson. He’s about the same size as me! We had fun playing on the floor, in the walker, and taking naps. I finally got some needed rest!

Busy Days

Wow! I’ve been so busy that I had no time to write.

Tonight, I go home with David! Since I last wrote, though, I spent the weekend sitting on Mr. Schwan’s desk (boring), I went to Francesca’s house Monday night (fun: volleyball practice), and I ended up at Gareth’s house last night (more fun: soccer practice was canceled, though -- too bad). So, I’m finally making the rounds again. It’s a lot more fun going home with my friends than sitting in the classroom all by myself!

Marley and Me

Samantha and I watched a video together. I’ve never watched this one before. It’s called Marley and Me and it’s all about a dog named Marley. I would never do some of the things Marley did in that movie!

Tonight, I go home with Nick! I’m looking forward to having a “guys night” at Nick’s house!
